3 Months

Wow where has the time gone? Natalie is 3 months old. We do not have a check up for this month so I can't really say how much she has grown, but I know she has. she is starting to actually outgrow some of her clothes, which is very exciting. just in the past week she has found her thumb and likes to chew on it, not suck but chew, and she has started to roll over. I have found her at least twice on her back when I go in to feed her in the morning, and my husband found her like that once. Today at church I put her down on her back and everything but her head was turned over... she is starting to stick everything she can in her mouth. she'll just sit there and gnaw at her hand or my fingers or whatever else is in her hand or reach. she is grabbing things and loves it. we still don't hear many happy noises but we do see a lot of smiles. One thing that makes me laugh is we will look in our mirror downstairs and she'll give a great big smile and then hid her head in my shoulder.
We also bought some baby sign language dvds. I know it is still early for her to be able to do them back to me but I figure it is never to early to start. The kit I bought is great. It comes with 6 dvds, each dvd came with a book and a set of flash cards. We get to learn mealtime, bedtime, bath time, getting dressed, park and pet signs. I am so excited. there is only about 6 signs for each but it is enough.

Two Months!

Yay! Natalie is two months now. She is sleeping through the night(when Daddy lets her), talking to us more and more, and starting to purposely move her hands!

She loves looking at her "friend" in the mirror while I change her during the day.

She is getting so big and yet still fits in most of her newborn clothes. She still likes to be held close for naps during the day, but I love it. I did buy a carrier for us, so now I don't have to pull out the stroller just to go for a walk. We have so much fun watch her grow and learn.

Natalie at 1 month

WE had Natalie's 1 month check up today. She is 8lbs and 4 oz. the Dr says she is growing well, everything is in the 50th percentile so we are happy. She gave me a nerve wrecking surprise last night... She slept from 7:30pm 'til 3:10 am... a "full" nights sleep! i just hope it continues.

Baby shower #2

My ward threw me a baby shower on Sat. There were so many babies born in January that our shower got pushed back.

Sleep?

We've been having some issues with Natalie not sleeping at night. She would be fine for a little while then get very uncomfortable and start crying, then spit up. Being a new mom, every noise she makes sends me to her side... and this just wasn't doing me any good. I am definitely not a night person, so staying up until after 3am with a baby who just doesn't like being laid down on her back isn't a good thing. So this afternoon she was fussy again, she had just eaten and I was putting her down, I thought that I would give her some tummy time to help her strengthen her neck. Not 5 minutes after being put on her tummy she fell asleep... and has been for about 3 hours now. I know that it is recommended for newborns to sleep on their backs but if she does better on her tummy that is what I'm going to do.

Natalie Lynn Morris

We went to the hospital on Sunday Jan 31st for an induction. Started the petocin at about 9 am. Dr. came in soon after to check my dilation and break my water. I was 2cm and about 80%. Since i had an induction i was confined to bed or chair. Had a good morning. I started feeling really strong contractions about 3pm. I asked for IV meds so I could try and nap, ha ha. They just made me loopy. It felt like time slowed down so about 3:30 I was back up and in pain. They asked if I wanted the epidural at 4, and I said i wanted to try for another half hour. Then another contraction hit and that idea went out the window. But the anaesieologist was busy so I did go for another half an hour... and got another IV med. Got the epidural about 5 or so, I don't really know I was so out of it. By then I was 5-6cm and about 95%. At around 6:30 or so I was checked out again and the nurse said I was ready to go, Matt was like ready to go where... Ready to push. The Dr. came in at 7, we had to bring her in from home and making dinner, and we started pushing. I pushed for only 41 min. Natalie was born at 7:41pm on Sunday weighing 7lbs and 1oz, and 20in long. All in all it was an experience. We got home Tue evening and had an interesting first night. the Second Night was much better.

So Close....

Well here we are, closer and closer to Natalie's birth. As of 1pm yesterday I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. We still have a few things I would like to pick up before she gets here but it's nothing major. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. I know that she will come in good time but I just want to see her and cuddle with her.... And with the way I've been feeling I don't know if she'll last another week. Oh the waiting... But I will wait as long as need be. I can see the finish line, or starting line as the case may be.
